What happens once an account gets compromised?
-The most common scenario is sending out e-mails on your behalf to everyone on your contact list, asking for money. The most common scam says you’ve been traveling, were mugged, and now can’t fly home, and have no place to stay –guillible members of your family / workplace routinely fall for stories like this, especially since, for all they can see, it comes from you.
-Less common, but more hazardous scenarios are scanning through all of your other services using the same username / password combination. This includes ebay, paypal, banks, and anything else where money can be easily fetched.
